P&B Italian Excellences carefully selects exclusive art pieces crafted using the traditional techniques of Murano glassmaking.
P&B Excellences
The legend of Murano was born in 1291, when the Doge of Venice ordered all the city’s glass furnaces to be moved to the island. In a short time, Murano became the ultimate symbol of glassmaking artistry, attracting royals, nobles, artists, and intellectuals from across Europe. Even today, the island is internationally renowned as the timeless guardian of this extraordinary centuries-old tradition.
The true value of Murano lies in its heritage of knowledge, in secrets passed down through generations, and in the craftsmanship and sensitivity of Murano’s master glassmakers. They understand the fragility of the material, the heat of the fire, and the harmony of color, transforming molten glass into unique works where technique, creativity, and tradition merge into authentic glass art.
“Every piece of glass contains a fragment of its creator’s soul.”
— The Murano Glassblower
P&B Italian Excellences carefully selects exclusive art pieces crafted using the traditional techniques of Murano glassmaking.
These creations are produced within a historic Murano furnace with a centuries-old legacy. Active in artistic glass production since the 15th century, this enchanting location preserves the true soul of Murano: its dialect, scents, people, and atmosphere still tell the story of the island’s thousand-year-old heritage.
Located in the heart of Fondamenta Vetrai, the furnace also became home, from the mid-19th century onward, to the renowned Pauly & C. 1866, an international symbol of luxury and excellence in Murano artistic glass. Some of Murano’s greatest master glassmakers worked here, infusing the space with all the magic and knowledge of the island. The noble essence of glass, the purity of its forms, and the harmony of its details are reflected in masterpieces of the highest quality, offered by P&B Italian Excellences in full respect of Murano tradition.
